Tobias: How come u started to play mk?

Hummel: my brother in law (Capt. Haans) showed it to me and I got interested, I tried it out and I got hooked after 1 game:-)

Tobias: =)

Tobias: how many hours /week do you play mk today?

Hummel: Hmm lets see.....I'm playing in average 25h/week but the total time I spend with mk simulating and such... is maybe 40-45 hours each week (I'm an addict):-)

Tobias: so what is about mk that makes it so good?

Hummel: Well, I've always been interested in strategy and war games. Mk is both of those, it's very big and challenge trying to find ways to outplay the opponent. There is not much that you can compare with when pulling of a seriously good double on someone and take them out. The satisfaction is great ;-)

Tobias: yes, I think so too, but to kill good players is always fun =)

Hummel: Hehe, yeah that's true

Tobias: what do you think mk could need to be even a better game?

Hummel: Not much I would like to change but a couple of things that would make it better is if more people start playing it and if we remove a couple of rotten players. But I don't know any changes that can make it much better then it is at this time.

Tobias: yes, maybe mk2 would be great. Since most of my friends just say no when they see how old the game is.

Hummel: Hmm, yeah maybe if the graphics where better more people would start playing it.

Tobias: Then it might be easier to get more people to play, just a thought.

Hummel: I agree with that.

Tobias: I have seen u playing Castle of Chaos (coc) and u have showed great skills in your expanding by taking all gold at turn 5. What did you do to make the difference from earlier when taking gold one turn later?

Hummel: Hehe, the reason I started simulating coc so much is that I got outplayed by firstknight in a game, he took all gold turn5 and I decided that if he can do it then I can do it.....my goal is to do it in all 9 castles, at this time I can to it in 4 of them:-)

Tobias: that's awesome!! =) Do you have any hints for us less good on coc?

Hummel: Haha, just that the no.1 priority is to take all wood asap, turn3 is the latest you should have all of it.

Tobias: thanks. I will have to try to get those earlier =)

Hummel: hehe, that would be a good start ;-)

Tobias: What do you think u can do to improve your mk gaming? Playing more games to get experience or other stuff?

Hummel: The best thing is to start thinking more in the games, planning a couple of turns ahead, I think I have improved much since I started playing with you:-)

Hummel: Hehe, it's true, your strategies and stuff helps out quite good

Tobias: how far do you try to plan your games? Is it like 1-2 turns ahead or is it more?

Hummel: The first 3-4 turns of the game I try to plan exactly what I will do, after that I usually only plan 1or 2 turns ahead, it depends on the situation in the game.

Tobias: what do you plan later? Is it more strategically thinking than earlier?

Hummel: If I'm at war I try to plan the attack(s) a couple of turns ahead instead of just rushing into battle and risk to loose it.

Tobias: very wise =)

Tobias: what should you say is characteristic for a good "mk player"?

Hummel: Hmm, you have to have patience and not rush trough the turns, good planning and a good strategic mind.

Tobias: You play a lot of other games like SOF, starknights, diablo2 and fallout tactics. Have these games helped u to think more strategic or something else in mk?

Hummel: Fallout tactics I think is the one that got me thinking a bit more then before and starknights has been of a little help as well.

Tobias: haven't played fallout tactics, maybe time to do so soon =)

Hummel: Hehe, yes it's a very good game.
